Billions of Dollars Being Spent to Improve Access to the World Wide Web
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) provided a total of $7.2 billion to the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) and the Department of Agriculture’s Rural Utilities Service (RUS) to fund projects that would expand access to and adoption of broadband services across the United States. NTIA utilized $4.7 billion of that funding for grants to deploy broadband infrastructure in the U.S., expand public computer center capacity, and encourage sustainable adoption of broadband service. IBNS Inc. is helping to support efforts in Hawaii on the Islands of Maui, Molokai and Lanai to support the needs of this program. the end restult will be improved communications statewide and greater access to the information highway of the world wide web. IBNS Inc. will be collecting data translating the data and submitting prepared applications to Oceanic Time Warner Cable for Submission to Hawaiian Telcom to place Fiber Optic Cables for the provision of Services to Schools, Hospitals, Universities, Fire Departments, Police Stations and much much more.
